In the uncalled for fifth season follow-up, Rob is an pushover for an imposing and unwelcome houseguest, Maria’s boyfriend, who claims to be a bullfighter. Manuel Rodriguez (a miscast Joby Baker) is no Vitto Giotto.
125. “A Farewell to Writing” (Season 5, Episode 2)When a friend’s book is published, an envious Rob takes him up on his offer to use his remote cabin to write. The second half of the episode is a good solo showcase for Van Dyke as he does everything to procrastinate.

It’s got a cannon-wielding showgirl, Jackie Joseph as Alberta Schweitzer and Johnny Silver, a 15-episode veteran of the series, appearing here as a peeved gambler.
