PLAE has been known for their adorable and versatile kids’ sneakers (with interchangeable Velcro tabs), but this season the company is also offering a new line of all-weather boots. The leather and suede is from a manufacturer that is ISO 14001 certified, the upper materials are made from recycled PET (milk jugs), PLAE’s heel cups are made from recycled EVA cork. Even their packaging is eco-friendly, and FSC-approved, employing soy-based ink, and vegetable and water-based laminates. Their boots retail for $79.95, but can handle many types of weather and are built to last. Note, however, that they are not sized for kids with wide feet.
