This was one of the thicker jackets we tested, which is more important for younger children, but it is also extremely waterproof and as hardy as you’d expect from a shell jacket. As a result it’s slightly more bulky when it comes to stuffing it into a backpack. It’s a very practical design; the hood’s detachable, the pockets zip up, and there is a decent bit of reflective trim. Polarn O Pyret sells a matching pair of robust waterproof dungaree trousers too.

“I love this so much! It is very comfortable and soft. I did not realize that the under-bust lace part was see-through, but it doesn’t bother me. Have yet to wash it to see how it holds up, but it seems to be a well-made item. It is a nice length and not too tight. So it is modest enough to wear as a standard night gown but very pretty and elegant. Would love some more in other colors.”

As in the movie Charade, the clues are in plain sight. Highlight: Laura coming upon Rob rubbing a lamp found in the desk and playing genie.
